1. Scope
These Terms apply to Ruler & Caliper (the “App”) and rulercaliper.app (the “Website”), published by Yurii Koshkin in Spain. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and Apple’s applicable App Store terms. The App is licensed under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless a different agreement is shown in the App Store.
2. Intended use
The App is a practical on-screen tool for measuring small, flat objects after physical calibration. It is not a certified or professional measuring instrument and must not be relied on for safety-critical, medical, surveying, construction, or machining decisions.
Results depend on calibration, alignment, device and display configuration, cases, screen protectors, and the object being measured. Verify important results with a suitable physical reference.
3. Free measurement and lifetime access
The App provides one completed measurement at no charge. Additional measurements require the lifetime-access non-consumable in-app purchase. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and does not renew. The current local price is shown by Apple before confirmation.
The Website does not sell, issue, or restore an App unlock. Apple processes payment, entitlement verification, restoration, and eligible refunds. Restore Purchases uses the Apple Account associated with the original purchase. We do not receive payment-card details.
4. License and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms and Apple’s applicable license terms, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App on supported Apple devices for lawful personal or internal business convenience.
You may not:
- use the App or Website unlawfully or to infringe another person’s rights;
- attempt to bypass purchase or access controls;
- reverse engineer, redistribute, sublicense, or create derivative works except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- interfere with the Website, App Store services, or service security.
5. Availability and device requirements
The App requires a supported iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Calibration may need to be repeated after a device or display-setting change. Measurement can work offline after calibration, but StoreKit product loading, purchase, and restoration require Apple services and may require an internet connection.
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, device compatibility, or product maintenance. Previously purchased rights remain subject to applicable law and Apple’s platform capabilities.
6. Intellectual property
The App, Website, visual design, branding, text, and software are owned by the publisher or used under license. These Terms do not transfer ownership of any intellectual-property right.
7. No measurement guarantee
The App and Website are provided on an “as available” basis. No promise is made that every result is error-free, that the App suits a particular professional purpose, or that service availability will be uninterrupted. You are responsible for calibration, alignment, and deciding whether a result is appropriate for your use.
8. Liability and consumer rights
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss resulting from reliance on a measurement or inability to use the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including rights available to consumers in the European Union.
9. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how App-local settings, limited product analytics, Apple purchases, support messages, and Website delivery data are handled.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, subject to any mandatory consumer protections and forum rights that apply in your country of residence. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern informally.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, Website, or applicable requirements. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Questions can be sent to support@rulercaliper.app.
